And so here is the sun...

Yeah, there is sun also in the Netherlands. First-semester exchange students told me that I would not encounter a single day of sun, but rather rainy and foggy days. Yesterday we exploited this thing to go to the Ikea in Delft, and buy some furniture that was missing in our rooms. Reyndert, our tenant (a Dutch freshly-graduated young man working in Amsterdam), brought us to the shop with a small van (!). I spent around 110 euros to bring home a wardrobe, a desk, an office chair, some boxes and a bin.

We just had lunch: a plate of tagliatelle, some ham and Dutch cheese, and - surprise - oysters prepared by Deyan, our other flatmate from Bulgaria. This evening, as flatmates, we are going to have our first dinner together; indeed, in the past days, me and Paolo had a series of exotic dishes in the many local restaurants or take-aways. We already had a Turkish kebab on the first night, a Thai-Vietnamese dinner a couple of nights ago, and Lebanese food yesterday.

The rest of this first (sunny) Sunday I will continue building the furniture for my small bedroom, planning to shop a while afterwards. I really need a bike to feel closer to the local culture (and to go to the University tomorrow for the beginning of classes).

I leave all of you with a photo of the Rotterdam skyline taken from the living room of these apartments, just to give you a rough idea of the amazing place where I live ;) Photos of the building will arrive soon...
